Roles control exactly what each staff member can see and do in the system. A well-configured role system is critical for business security and data integrity.
How Roles Work
- Each User is assigned one Role.
- Each Role has a set of Permissions (e.g., "can create invoices", "can view reports", "can delete products").
- If a user's role does not include a permission, the corresponding button, page, or menu item is hidden or disabled for them.
Default System Roles
- Admin: Full access to all features. Should only be assigned to trusted senior staff.
- Cashier: Access to POS, creating sales, and viewing basic stock. No access to reports or settings.
- Accountant: Access to accounting, reports, and expense recording. Cannot change business settings or manage users.
📌 Note:Default system roles cannot be deleted. You can create unlimited custom roles based on your specific organisational needs.
