How to Edit, Reset Password, or Deactivate a User

Editing a User's Profile

  1. Go to Settings → Manage Users.
  2. Click the pencil (Edit) icon on the user's row.
  3. Update any fields: name, email, role, or location.
  4. Click Update User.

Resetting a User's Password (Admin Action)

  1. Open the user's Edit form.
  2. Enter a new password in the Password field (leave blank to keep the existing password unchanged).
  3. Click Update User.
  4. Communicate the new password to the user securely.

Deactivating a User (Preventing Login)

  1. Open the user's Edit form.
  2. Uncheck the Allow Login checkbox.
  3. Click Update User. The user can no longer log in, but their historical data is preserved.
⚠️ Warning:Deactivating a user is preferable to deleting them. Deleting a user that has created transactions may cause database integrity issues and can break historical records.
